Goals from Karl Hinds, Daryl Wilson, Kieran Lester and Fraser Barlow saw Bulls beat Fleet Spurs in the first of two games in as many days.

In front of another bumper Springfield Stadium crowd, Bulls started at a high tempo when fullback Jay Giles whipped in a corner within the first minute, only for the ball to hit captain James Queree when the goal seemed inevitable.

Hinds then tested the visiting keeper Mark Appleby from a free kick, and in the 12^thminute Wilson saw his effort fly in, only for the referee, Steve Hart, to chalk it off for an alleged high foot.

The same pair tested Appleby once more each, but both shots were dealt with by the busy Spurs keeper.

Luke Campbell found himself presented with a free header, however the centre half could only direct the ball wide of its target.

The impressive Andre Smith found himself through on goal in the 28^th minute, but he could only loop his shot wide of the goal, having beaten Bulls debutant Dan Birrell.

In the 31^st minute the Bulls opened the scoring. The ever-impressive Giles raced through the Spurs defence, unleashing a shot which was saved, but parried out to Hinds, who took his chance and his goal tally to six for the season.

Wilson very nearly doubled the Bulls’ lead instantaneously. Lester raced down the wing and found the big target man, who turned and shot, only to hit the crossbar, with it likely to still be shaking now.

Fleet Spurs did play some tidy football, with one of these moves leading to an attempt by Adam Bellmaine, but his shot rose over Birrell’s net.

Early in the second half Wilson doubled the Bulls’ lead with an absolute screamer. The ball was delivered from a corner, Queree laid it off and Wilson curled one into the top corner as Springfield Stadium went crazy.

Debutant Birrell was called into action on the hour mark when he tipped over a looping effort from Bellmaine, with many thinking it had dropped in. Bellmaine drove a powerful effort ten minutes later, but again Birrell stood firm on an impressive debut.

Lester bagged his goal after a delightful delivery by substitute Sean Lambert, with the striker glancing his header into the bottom corner expertly, putting the game to bed in the process.

The Bulls’ first ever league scorer bagged another goal with the last kick of the game, as Barlow tucked it past Appleby.

The lads are back in action tomorrow against Westside, in what is a quick turnaround, but one they are all taking in their stride.
