Match Preview: Hassocks (A)

After weathering the storm last time out, the Bulls are back on the road for the eighth time this season, this time facing an in-form Hassocks FC at The Beacon Ground.

The Bulls come into this game full of confidence after edging out a one-nil win in a weather affected battle against a tough Sevenoaks side, thanks to Fraser Barlow poking home a rebound in the 69th minute. This result sees us increase our gap away from the bottom three as well as extend our unbeaten home run to five matches.

Away from home, the Bulls have had mixed fortunes with two wins and three draws in the seven games, producing notable wins against Herne Bay and AFC Croydon Athletic. But with just one away clean sheet, I'm sure the boys will be hoping to increase this tally on Saturday.

However, scoring goals hasn’t been a problem away from home as we have managed to notch up a goal tally of 14 already this campaign, being spread throughout the team as the Bulls offer threats from all over the pitch and have managed to find success in that this season.

Our hosts last match was on Tuesday night when they travelled to Faversham Town, the only thing that stopped them taking all three points against the only unbeaten side left in the league was an own goal in the 97th minute. Regardless of this, Hassocks seem to have managed to find their feet this season as the draw midweek makes it five without loss for the newly promoted side.

At home, Hassocks have had some successes gaining 11 points from the seven games they have played at The Beacon Ground. Hassocks this season have both scored and conceded ten goals at home, showing that despite not scoring loads going forward, they are defensively solid especially when considering that three of these goals came in their 3-1 defeat against Deal Town.

With both sides in-form, this weekend's clash is all set up to be a hard fought affair with fine margins being the difference.
