The partnership brings together the Jersey Bulls’ strong community brand and football pathway with Sports Bug’s expertise in delivering high-quality, safeguarding-led coaching in schools, after-school clubs and holiday camps.

Together, the organisations will focus on creating clear, accessible and inspiring opportunities for young players to develop both on and off the pitch.

The joint initiative will:

  • Deliver the highest standard of football coaching across holiday camps and after-school clubs
  • Launch new football-focused holiday clubs in partnership with Jersey Bulls
  • Expand high-quality after-school provision with a strong football development pathway
  • Build stronger partnerships with local primary schools
  • Create clear development routes from grassroots participation to club football
  • Make football accessible and affordable for all children, regardless of ability
  • Develop not just better players, but confident, respectful young people
  • Provide positive role models through qualified, safeguarding-led coaches
  • Grow girls’ football opportunities alongside boys’ provision
  • Strengthen community links between Sports Bug, Jersey Bulls and local families

Adam Budworth, Chairman of Jersey Bulls, said: “This partnership is about growing the game the right way. By combining the Jersey Bulls brand and football pathway with Sports Bug’s proven expertise in safeguarding and youth coaching, we can create something truly special for children in Jersey. We want to inspire the next generation, make football accessible to all, and build a clear pathway from first kick to club football. It’s an exciting step forward for the island.”

Danny Cutland, from Sports Bug Jersey, added: “At Sports Bug, our focus has always been on delivering safe, inclusive and high-quality sport for children. Working alongside Jersey Bulls allows us to enhance our football offering, launch new holiday clubs and strengthen after-school provision while ensuring every child – regardless of ability – has the opportunity to participate, develop and thrive. Together, we’re not just developing players, we’re helping shape confident, respectful young people.”

The joint venture reflects both organisations’ commitment to long-term development, community engagement and safeguarding excellence. By aligning expertise and resources, Sports Bug and Jersey Bulls aim to create a sustainable football pathway that supports children from their earliest introduction to the sport through to competitive club opportunities.

Further details on upcoming holiday camps, after-school programmes and school partnerships will be announced in the coming weeks.
