Isthmian League South Central Division

Egham Town
3–3FT
Jersey Bulls

Tuesday 29 September 2026 · Runnymede Stadium

Jersey met Egham for the first time and hoping for a victory that would take them to second in the table. Egham had been relegated from the Isthmian in 2019 but returned after winning the Combined Counties North in 2025. Last season they finished 7th but this season lie 18th but with games in hand and a 2-0-3 7-12 record.

Jersey were a bit thin on the ground with Jonny Le Quesne suspended and Jamie Watling unavailable. Euan Van der Vliet, Joe Kilshaw and substitute Fraser Barlow were all absent as they were attending a former team mates funeral. Sam Devy made his debut in goal, Harry Curtis and Jack Lumsden came into the back four with James Sunley returning in midfield. James Carr, Luke Lister and Casey Nixon were all added as substitutes and all three made an appearance.

Egham made two changes from their last league game. Captain Ben Peden returned and took over the armband from Connagh Wilks, However, Peden only lasted until the interval and Wilks resumed command for the second half. The other change was Sebastian Ksrczewski being promoted from the bench. He made an immediate impact scoring twice in the first ten minutes and making the third after sixteen. On the bench were the displaced Oliver Benito and Excellence Muhemba, with Liam Avery dropping out.

Jersey had an early chance when Sammy Henia-Kamau seized on a loose pass out. He lobbed the ‘keeper from 25 yards but it presumably hit a bobble as it went well wide. A goal was soon coming but it was at the other end. A Bradley Clayton cross reached Connor Cullen on the right byline. He hooked it over the advancing Devy and Sebastian Karczewski headed home from a yard.

Karczewski soon had a second. A long throw from Luke Wayborn, a feature of the evening, was headed on by Wilks and Karczewski was at the back post six yards to head it back across to the bottom left corner.
Jersey were soon back in the game. Toby Ritzema broke down the right and passed inside to Sunley who placed a precise low cross to the far post where Bickley bundled it in. Within two minutes the deficit was back to two. A cross from the right was over hit but hooked back by Karczewski to the right post where Rayan Djouadj outjumped Devy to head home from close in.

The end to end nature of the game continued. Sunley had a header at the right post saved by a combination of Swyer and the bar but Cullen rounded Devy at the other end before Lumsden got back to clear off the line. Henia-Kamau had a shot parried by Swyer which Ritzema got to the rebound first only to lift the ball over the bar.

Jersey grabbed a lifeline just before the break. A long crossfield ball from Jay Giles found Harry Curtis in the right corner, He played the ball back to Bickley in the right corner of the box. One touch and he hit a rocket “through” Zwyer’s upstretched arms.

The second half was unlikely to be as frenetic. Ten minutes in and Ritzema was put through by Bickley, but Zwyer’s outstretched leg denied Jersey the equaliser. Just before the hour the leveller arrived. Bickley was brought down in the left channel 20 yards out by Wicks which earned the defender a card, one of many during the evening. The resultant Henia-Kamau free kick hit Wayborn as the defensive wall broke up and deflected into the bottom left corner leaving Zwyer stranded.

Jersey would be looking for a winner, but Curtis was dismissed for violent conduct as he was disentangling himself from a tackle with Cullen. That changed the dynamic and it was Egham who had the better chances in the last half hour. A shot was blocked by a defender before Devy made an excellent save diving to his right from a Cullen shot from the edge of the box. Another Wayborn long throw caused consternation as it was headed into the side netting by Wilks with some enthusiastic supporters in the sparse crowd thinking it was a winner for Egham.
