Jersey visited unbeaten second placed Faversham Town (8-4-0 28-11) with a defensive line up looking to hit their opponents on the counter attack. They made one change to the team that had beaten Whyteleafe with Fraser Barlow moving up from the bench in place of Miguel Carvalho who had gone over on his ankle in that match. Youngsters Harry Mackenzie and Stanley Dunne were added to the bench with Jonny Le Quesne and Jay Giles dropping out.
The counter attacking policy paid off just after the quarter hour when James Queree moved the ball up the right flank to Joe Kilshaw who in turn found Barlow in space. Barlow cut in and from twenty yards shot through a defender's legs into the bottom right corner past the possibly unsighted Roshan Greensall
The lead proved fleeting. Faversham equalised almost immediately as a good through ball down the right channel from Nathan Wood bisected the Jersey defence and Tashi-Jay Kwayie ran on it and found the bottom left corner with a low cross shot past the advancing Euan Van der Vliet.
Just after the half hour Jersey gave Faversham far too much room from a right-wing corner. The ball was relayed to Faversham's most dangerous player, Kieron Campbell, lurking outside the box in a central position. He had the time and space to hit a looping shot into the bottom left corner with Van der Vliet this time the unsighted 'keeper as Faversham took the lead.
In added time Lorne Bickley was well placed in the right channel but took a touch too much and from a narrowing angle his shot was pushed around the post by Greensall.
The interval saw injury changes for both sides with Adam Trotter replacing Toby Ritzema in the Jersey midfield and Bradley Simms coming on for Faversham skipper Matt Newman with Ben Gorham taking over the armband.
Bickley had another opportunity mid way through the second half but the ball would not "sit" for him and he eventually dragged it just wide of the left post. Two minutes later Faversham increased their lead when Campbell delivered an excellent cross from the left wing to find substitute Johan Caney-Bryan at the near post, and he planted a firm header into the top left corner. Jersey swept forward looking to reduce the arrears but produced little of note as Faversham briefly went top of the table.
