Jersey had a complete team missing and were comfortably beaten, although the margin probably flattered the visitors who were helped by two unfortunate own goals. Jersey welcomed back Sammy Henia-Kamau from Hull City under 21’s and Jarma Mohamed who had guested in the U23 friendly last season. Dulwich’s goalkeeper, Toby Bull, was out with a wrist injury, so they brought in a former England schools’ internationalist for a trial.

Jersey made some early inroads, but it was Dulwich who took the lead when Ogo Obi cut across the edge of the box and found Lonit Talla left of centre. Talla shot towards the top left corner and although Pierce Roche got both his hands to the ball, he failed to keep the ball out. After quarter of an hour Dulwich doubled their lead when Obi ghosted past James Queree on the left flank before reaching the byline. His pull back was cut out by Harry Curtis at full stretch, but he only succeeded in deflecting the ball into the bottom right corner. Another calamity followed twenty minutes later. This time Dulwich captain Nyren Clunis crossed from the right and opposing skipper James Queree sliced a volley into the top right corner past a bemused Roche. Clunis was also instrumental in the fourth goal when his low cross from the right found Obi unmarked only seven yards out and with time to pick his spot. Henia-Kamau clawed one back with the goal of the day just before the interval when he curled a 22 yard free kick left of centre over the wall and into the top left corner.

The interval saw the visitors make half a dozen changes and Jersey swap their ‘keeper. The new one, Robbie Scott, had his first touch when retrieving the ball from

the net as Dulwich restored their four goal advantage. Half time substitute Luke Wanadio curled a cross in from the left flank which eluded Curtis at the far post and another substitute, Danny Mills, volleyed home from four yards. A flurry of substitutions from both sides around the hour mark gave nearly everyone some “minutes” and although both sides had their moments there was no further scoring.
