Jersey resumed their quest for promotion after the league had had an Easter break. They faced the youthful Hartland team from Farnborough who finished fourth in qualifying league with a 7-0-4 37-17 record. They beat second placed Meadow Sports but lost to Horley Town (5th) and Ash United (7th). They had opened their play-off campaign by beating South Park 9-2 two weeks ago. The match between the two sides in early January had ended 3-1 to Jersey but only after Hartland had taken the lead and Jersey only scored their third with two minutes remaining. Emily Le Page returned to the Jersey side in place of Taylor Smythe who was a substitute along with Chantelle Renouard and Roisin Flynn.
Jersey took a while to turn their possession in to goals but when Anita Tavares tried to find Natasha Keen with a through ball it led to hesitation between a defender and ‘keeper with Keen feeding off the rebound to roll it home. A second arrived when a Leah Morris corner from the left was glanced into her own net by Luana Castro-Whelan who was guarding the near post. Morris added two more early in the second half both with chips from 25-30 yards that left the otherwise excellent Sadie Trotter stranded on both occasions. Jersey squandered further chances to add to their tally before substitute Roisin Flynn raced on to a Morris through ball to add the fifth and another substitute Taylor Smythe made it half a dozen in added time when she finished off a right wing cross from Flynn at the far post.
