JERSEY BULLS RELUCTANTLY WITHDRAW FROM COMBINED COUNTIES PREMIER LEAGUE CUP

Jersey Bulls are an ambitious club with goals to consistently progress and break new ground, so it is with great sadness that the Bulls are forced to withdraw from the CCPL Cup.

Jersey Bulls are in the unique position within the Combined Counties Premier Division South to be the only club responsible for paying for not just their own flights and accommodation to the mainland but also those of visiting teams. This season with several cancelled games, and with matches to be rearranged will mean that the Bulls often forfeit monies already paid to airlines, hotels, and coach companies.

“It is really unfortunate, but we need to be pragmatic with our finances. We set a travel budget at the start of the season and it is going to be exceeded. We are working hard on other ways to generate secondary match day income which are currently unavailable to us at Springfield.” Says Jersey Bulls CEO Ian Horswell.

Horswell continued “This is a difficult decision, and we truly hope that this is the last of them. On a sporting front, we had a terrific opportunity to do well in this cup competition as the favourites from our league have been knock out already. However, we do hope it will help the league with fixture scheduling as there isn’t the space in the calendar for us to have another four fixtures”.

Jersey Bulls are in league action again tomorrow evening against a rejuvenated Fleet Town which will be their first away fixture of the year.
